NADL/CDS Co-Hosted Clinics:
Course #C41 – Orthodontics Unraveled for the General Dentist
by Don Inman, CDT, Michael Florman, DDS and Rob Veis, DDS
Friday, 2/22/08, 1:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Pre Reg $45; Onsite: $60
Relapse happens! That’s the bumper sticker philosophy for orthodontic care and it may have very little to do with the dentist’s treatment mechanics or plan. Permanent retention appears to be the only reliable way to keep the dental arches in a position similar to that in which they were the day after the patient’s braces were removed and the general dentist is the only line of defense to provide the retention services needed. In this course, you will learn how, as a general dentist, you can recognize early interceptive orthodontic cases and when to appropriately treat them. Also, you will learn how to manage hundreds of orthodontic patients who already exist in your office. These patients vary from those who may simply need a new retainer to those who may need a small amount of minor tooth movement to improve their esthetics or enhance your prosthetic care.
Course #C48 – Great Communication for Great Dentures
by TG Hornischer, CDT and Mark Connelly, DDS
Saturday, 2/23/08, 9:00 a.m. - Noon
Pre Reg $45; Onsite: $60
You may be able to walk the denture walk, but can you talk the talk because it’s great communication that is the key to great dentures. Explore the ways you can communicate information from time-tested tools to cutting edge technology in order to provide the highest level of care. This course will assist you in understanding how to take and how to read impressions, how to recognize anatomical landmarks, how to communicate facial contours and incisal edge position as well as how to determine proper posterior occlusal schemes for various jaw relationships and finally the best way to process, finish and deliver.
Course #C59 – Preparation Design and the New Dental Ceramics
by Robert Wisler, CDT and Damon Adams, DDS
Saturday, 2/23/08, 1:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Pre Reg $45; Onsite: $60
While many other things are changing rapidly in dentistry, preparation design will always be of major importance to achieving the best esthetics and expected longevity for your restorations. In this course, you will learn: how to simplify the classifications of all-ceramics; preparation requirements for the latest and most proven pressed, aluminum oxide and zirconium oxide all-ceramic systems; the most common preparation challenges along with their technical solutions; and how the laboratory technician can deliver feedback to help improve preparations.

Registration Information:
Between 2,500 and 4,000 people attempt to register onsite at the MWM between 7:30 a.m. and noon each of the first two days of the meeting. Every effort is made to accommodate that number; however, long lines are inevitable. CDS urges attendees to pre-register early, preferably by Internet, to avoid the long lines.
Pre-registration for the Midwinter Meeting has many benefits. Pre-registration by Dec. 31, 2007 offers attendees the lowest badge fee. Pre-registration between Jan. 1 and Jan. 31, 2008, is the second lowest badge fee. Additionally, by pre-registering, you will receive your name badge and registration confirmation by mail, avoiding the long registration lines at the meeting. Please keep in mind that online registration is in real-time and courses sell out quickly. When you pre-register online, you may also pre-register for F (free) Courses. Once you register online, you may make additions to your order, but no deletions or refunds will be made online. Refund requests must be made in writing and received by the Advanced Tradeshow Technologies office no later than February 6, 2008.
Attendees can register online through January 31, 2008 by visiting this webpage: CDS MWM Online Pre-Registration.
You may also register for NADL/CDS Co-Sponsored courses and Laboratory Technician registration by completing the special registration form here.
