Two Ivoclar Legends Retiring End of Year

With almost 50 years of service to Ivoclar combined, these industry experts will be missed.

Gary Osborn, CDT has over 40 years experience as a dental laboratory technician and educator. After his retirement from the Air Force in 2004 he joined Ivoclar as a Technical Consultant working in the Technical Services and Education Department.  He has been with Ivoclar for 21½ years. He said, “It has been a pleasure to work at Ivoclar for over 20 years.  Meeting and working with dental professionals all over North America has been a rewarding and fulfilling career.”

Jeff Smith, CDT has over 45 years of’ experience as a dental laboratory technician, manager and educator. Prior to joining Ivoclar, Jeff taught at the Department of Defense Dental Laboratory School at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas. He is currently the Director of Technical and Digital Services Department where his primary responsibilities include Education, Product Support/Troubleshooting, and Research and Development. He has worked at Ivoclar for 26 years. Smith said, “It’s been my sincere honor during my time at Ivoclar to have trained, supported and developed lasting relationships with many talented technicians around the country.”

Celebrating outstanding craftsmanship: The Ivoclar Smile Award

Dentsply Sirona and America’s ToothFairy support oral health education through My Smile Matters campaign

Dentsply Sirona has again partnered with America’s ToothFairy to increase access to oral health education for families and children across the United States. In line with its sustainability strategy “BEYOND: Taking Action for a Brighter World”, Dentsply Sirona made a $5,000 donation to support this year’s My Smile Matters campaign, helping to make free educational resources available to schools, community programs and dental professionals nationwide. As a company deeply rooted in the Charlotte community, Dentsply Sirona is proud to contribute to this initiative which had a strong local impact: Organizations such as InReach, the NC Department of Health and Human Services and Currituck County Schools used the materials to educate families in Charlotte and across North Carolina.

Sarah Anders has rejoined Henry Schein as Executive Director of Commercial Strategy & Growth for Zahn Dental, the U.S. dental laboratory business of Henry Schein, Inc.

Sarah will serve as the strategic leader responsible for driving revenue growth, strengthening brand positioning, and expanding market presence for Henry Schein’s dental laboratory business. She will oversee the development and execution of integrated sales strategies, marketing campaigns, and merchandising initiatives that align with Henry Schein’s vision and meet the evolving needs of its customers. Sarah rejoins Henry Schein with more than 30 years of dental industry experience, holding positions across Sales, Marketing, and Continuing Education with several major dental materials manufacturers. She has held senior leadership roles, successfully developing and executing strategic market growth initiatives while fostering both individual and team development. Her experience spans the Canadian and U.S. markets, including her previous position with Henry Schein Canada as Director, Equipment and Technology, and executive leadership positions with Ivoclar and the HuFriedy Group. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from McMaster University and a Master of Business Administration from Penn State University.

Dentsply Sirona honors Veterans Day by supporting better access to oral healthcare for U.S. veterans

In recognition of Veterans Day on November 11, Dentsply Sirona, the world’s largest diversified manufacturer of professional dental products and technologies, reaffirmed its commitment to increasing access to oral healthcare for U.S. veterans through both corporate and employee-led initiatives. As part of its global sustainability strategy “BEYOND: Taking Action for a Brighter World,” the company has extended its long-standing partnership with Dental Lifeline Network (DLN) and made a $30,000 donation, which includes both cash and in-kind contributions of CEREC blocks, to support DLN’s Lifeline Heroes Challenge program for veterans. DLN also participated in this year’s DS World in Las Vegas with a dedicated booth, where they connected with dental professionals and inspired several to get involved in their mission as volunteers. The renewed partnership will continue to make a positive impact through 2026, providing free dental care for veterans in need.
