Dentsply Sirona calls for more action on sustainable packaging

On World Environment Day 2025, Dentsply Sirona called on the dental industry to strengthen its commitment to sustainable dentistry. The company also reaffirms its own commitment to environmental sustainability by accelerating efforts in its strive to make all its packaging recyclable by 2030. This ambitious target is part of the Healthy Planet pillar of Dentsply Sirona’s sustainability program, “BEYOND: Taking Action for a Brighter World” and aims to support dental practices on their own journey to sustainability and waste reduction. As part of this journey, Dentsply Sirona is incorporating the circular economy principles of reduce, reuse and recycle and removing problematic, non-recyclable plastics from its packaging. This includes transitioning from plastic to paper-based and corrugated cardboard alternatives, replacing foam inserts and single-use plastic trays with paper inserts, as well as reducing label and box sizes. The Company, which has successfully optimized some of its packaging already, says the accumulative improvements will lead to environmental gains over time.

Dentsply Sirona Appoints Matthew E. Garth as Chief Financial Officer 

Dentsply Sirona announced that Matthew E. Garth has been appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective May 30, 2025. Mr. Garth brings nearly 30 years of proven financial management expertise to Dentsply Sirona, with a focus on driving value creation. He most recently served as Chief Financial Officer & Chief Administrative Officer of The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, a global leader of branded consumer lawn and garden products. Prior to ScottsMiracle-Gro, Mr. Garth held numerous financial leadership roles at large, multinational companies, including Minerals Technology Inc. and Alcoa Corporation.

Dentsply Sirona’s Cloud platform, DS Core, to Replace the Connect Case Center

Dentsply Sirona is set to replace its Connect Case Center (CCC) with its innovative cloud-based platform DS Core, which connects dental practices and labs, and supports them throughout their daily workflows by providing tools that support practice growth, enhance workflow efficiency and elevate patient outcome and experience. Introduced in 2010, the CCC was designed for transferring intraoral scans and facilitating lab orders.
