A THREE PART VIRTUAL COURSE
NADL has partnered with Larry Weiss, CPA (Ret), CEPA, CPBA to offer Introduction to Exit Planning for Dental Laboratory Owners, a three-part virtual educational series designed specifically for dental laboratory owners who want to better understand, prepare for, and maximize the value of their business before an eventual transition or sale.
This practical course will help participants evaluate their current exit readiness, identify potential value gaps, and begin developing an action plan to increase business value and future options.
PROGRAM FORMAT
This course includes three live virtual sessions, each lasting 90 minutes. Participants will receive a workbook that complements the course content and provides practical tools for assessing their current level of exit readiness.
Throughout the series, attendees will complete self-assessments designed to help them evaluate their business, identify opportunities for improvement, and begin building an exit planning strategy.
COURSE DATES
- Wednesday, October 28, 2026 @ 12:00pm – 1:30pm Eastern Time
Session 1: The Wake-Up Call Many business owners assume they have plenty of time to think about succession or exit planning. This session challenges that assumption and explores why many owners exit unprepared, often due to circumstances beyond their control.
Participants will examine the gap between perceived business value and what the market is actually willing to pay, while gaining an understanding of the three primary exit paths available.
Key Outcomes By the end of this session, participants will be able to: • Understand why exit planning matters regardless of timeline • Recognize the gap between how owners and buyers value a business • Identify which of the three exit paths they may currently be on by default
- Wednesday, November 4, 2026 @ 12:00pm - 1:30pm Eastern Time
Session 2: The Three Readiness Gaps
Successful exits require more than a valuable business. Owners must also be personally and financially prepared.
This session introduces the three dimensions of exit readiness: personal readiness, financial readiness, and business readiness. Participants will assess their current position, identify potential gaps, and determine where improvement efforts should be focused.
Key Outcomes By the end of this session, participants will be able to: • Understand the three dimensions of exit readiness and why all three matter • Assess personal, financial, and business readiness honestly • Identify the most significant readiness gap that could impact a future transition
- Wednesday, November 11, 2026 @ 12:00pm - 1:30pm Eastern Time
Session 3: Value Acceleration Readiness
The final session brings everything together by introducing the Value Acceleration framework and the key drivers that influence business value.
Participants will learn how to evaluate their business through the eyes of a buyer, understand the factors that drive valuation, and begin building a practical roadmap for increasing value and improving future exit options.
Key Outcomes By the end of this session, participants will be able to: • Understand the Discover → Prepare → Decide Value Acceleration framework • Evaluate their business against the eight key value drivers buyers seek • Identify the exit path that best aligns with their goals and circumstances • Develop a written 90–180 day action plan to improve readiness and business value
